At the age of 30, McCall Zerboni
earned her first ever call-up to the U.S. women's national team. She has been brought in for Sunday's match against South Korea in Cary, North Carolina.
She plays alongside U.S. midfielder and fellow UCLA product Sam Mewis
for the NWSL's North Carolina Courage, the 2017 Shield winner.
Zerboni has played in all eight seasons
of the WPS and NWSL with stops at the Los Angeles Sol, Atlanta Beat, Western New York Flash, Portland Thorns and Boston Breakers in addition to North Carolina.
Two players who started for
the USA's 3-1 win over South Korea on Thursday didn't travel to Cary: Mallory Push
, which suffered a hamstring injury, and Andi Sullivan
, who returned to Stanford University, which plays
at Oregon State on Sunday. U.S. Roster: GOALKEEPERS (3):
