TV: Viewerships for MLS playoffs on ESPN networks up 80 percent

There are two sides to MLS's move to play more playoff games on weeknights. While attendance is down, viewership on ESPN is up significantly.

Through three games, matches on ESPN and ESPN2 have averaged 327,000 viewers -- an 80 percent increase from 182,000 viewers for the first three playoff matches in 2016.

MLS Playoff Viewerships on ESPN Networks:
424,000 Columbus vs. NYCFC  (Tuesday, Oct 31, ESPN)
319,000 Atlanta United vs. Columbus (Thursday, Oct. 26, ESPN2)  
250,000 Vancouver vs. Seattle (Sunday, Oct. 29, ESPN)

Also:
-- Viewership in the coveted men 18-34 demo is up 141 percent and men 18-49 is up 117 percent.
-- Average viewership on ESPN/ESPN2 among adults 18-49 has grown 123 percent.
