USL Playoffs: Third time is charm for Lou City, Swope Park returns to final

For the third time in three seasons in the USL, Louisville City FC reached the Eastern Conference final.

After losing to Rochester in 2015 and the New York Red Bulls II in 2016, Lou City beat RBII, 4-3, in a shootout after a 1-1 tie and moved into the 2017 USL Cup final against Swope Park Rangers.

Brian Ownby, who began his pro career with MLS's Houston Dynamo, scored his third goal in third games for Lou City, but Junior Flemmings evened the score in the 57th minute.

Trinidadian keeper Greg Ranjitsingh made two saves in the shootout as Lou City won the shootout, 4-3, reversing its shootout defeat by the same score in the 2016 conference final.
