U.S. Abroad Tracker (25 and younger): Brooks hits post in wild game against former club

John Brooks faced Hertha Berlin for the first time since his American record $22 million transfer to Wolfsburg in a match that ended in a 3-3 tie after three lead changes and featured one missed penalty kick and two goals disallowed by VAR.

The first Video Review came after Brooks hit the post in the fifth minute and teammate Mario Gomez scored from what was deemed to be an offside position. Later in the first half, Younes Malli scored on a deflection off a teammate, who was ruled to be an offside position on Video Review.

SATURDAY. One of Christian Pulisic's best games of the season couldn't prevent Borussia Dortmund from going down to defeat again, a 3-1 loss to Bayern that dropped it six points behind the Bundesliga leaders.

Pulisic helped set up the lone Dortmund goal, beating two Bayern players in the corner and nutmegging Arjen Robben before laying the ball off to Marc Barta, who scored with a curling shot past Bayern keeper Sven Ulreich.

"For me, Christian Pulisic was the best player on our team," Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Bosz said. "[He was] on a level with our fans, who still supported us despite the 3-0 deficit. That was incredible, I've hardly ever seen that before. Christian exuded a lot of pressure and showed great maturity but our fans but our fans were incredible today."

-- Caleb Stanko made his first Bundesliga debut, starting for Freiburg in its 1-0 loss to Schalke 04 that saw teenager Weston McKennie return to Schalke's starting lineup.

It is nice Pulisic is doing well, but the USMNT still sucks. I wish it was ten years ago.

There is an awful lot of "on bench" and "did not dress" on this list.  I wonder how our percentage of games vs. players stacks up with other countries.
