Gonzalez was not picked for the USA's game at Portugal, reportedly to allow him to rest up for the Liguilla, the Liga MX playoffs
that start in two weeks. He did not play in Monterrey's makeup game against Santos last Thursday.
The Monterrey-Tigres game will decide the Torneo Apertura first place. Monterrey will
clinch with a win or tie. Tigres needs to win to overtake the Rayados.
