Head coaches Marc Dos Santos
, who led the San Francisco Deltas to the 2017 NASL title in their first season, and former Italian star Alessandro Nesta
, who led Miami FC to a sweep of the
spring and fall championships, have both stepped down from their positions.
Dos Santos' decision comes amid speculation about the Deltas' future. He will not lack for suitors, having led
three different teams to league championship games in the last three seasons: Ottawa (NASL) in 2015, Swope Park Rangers (USL) in 2016 and the Deltas in 2017.
Nesta coached Miami FC for two seasons. In 2017, it went 11-2-3 and 11-3-3 in the two halves but lost to the New York Cosmos in a
shootout in the NASL semifinals. He had been linked to the Montreal Impact, where he played in MLS, but it hired Frenchman Remi Garde
as its head coach. Nesta said in a statement that he
was ready for a "new challenge."
