NJCAA: Tyler sweeps Division I men's and women's championships

Tyler Junior College, the Texas JC that produced Dom Dwyer, won the NJCAA Division I men's and women's titles with wins over Schoolcraft (Mich.) and ASA Brooklyn, respectively, on Saturday.


Englishman  Carlton McKenzie and Liberian Mohammed Kamara scored for the Apaches in the 2-0 win over Schoolcraft to clinch their sixth men's title since 2009. Kamara finished the season with 48 goals and at least one goal in every one of his 22 games.

Frenchwoman Claire Ramet scored late in the second half to give Tyler a 1-0 win over ASA Brooklyn and its third women's national title. The Apache Ladies also featured starters from England, Germany, Japan, Brazil and Argentina, in addition to four players from Texas and Ramet.

-- Genesee and Brookhaven won the NJCAA Division III men's and women's titles, respectively.
