NCAA Division I Men's Tournament: Fordham stuns Duke in shootout

For the second time in three games, Fordham twice rallied from a one-goal deficit to beat No. 6 seed Duke in a shootout after a 2-2 tie and advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Men's Tournament for the first time.

Sophomore Bart Dziedzic came off the bench to set up Jannik Loebe for the first Fordham goal and scored the second one himself in the 87th minute.

In the shootout, Duke keeper Will Pulisic, who spent last season with his cousin Christian Pulisic at Borussia Dortmund, where he was an amateur player, stopped Janos Loebe on the first attempt.

In the fifth round, Jannik Loebe hit the crossbar to give Duke a chance to win, but the Rams' Ghanaian keeper, Rashid Nuhu, stopped Carter Manley's shot.

In the 10th round, backup goalkeeper Jordan Black scored for Fordham and Nuhu stopped his third shot of the shootout, saving Moser's attempt to send the Rams to the quarterfinals against No. 3 North Carolina, a 2-0 winner over SMU.

"The group is such a tough group," said Rams coach Jim McElderry. "They love playing with each other and didn't want to have their season end. I'm just so proud of them."
