U.S. Soccer presidential election: Five candidates slated to appear at U.S. Club Soccer forum

U.S. Club Soccer is hosting a forum for U.S. Soccer presidential candidates on Tuesday in Chicago. Five of the announced candidates are scheduled to attend:

Paul Caligiuri
Steve Gans
Kyle Martino
Michael Winograd
Eric Wynalda

The event will be moderated by U.S. Club Soccer CEO and executive director Kevin Payne with participation from the organization's chairman, Phil Wright, and its board of directors. U.S. Club Soccer members had an opportunity to submit questions. Topics will include player development, national team development and coaching issues.

At U.S. Soccer's 2017 AGM in Maui, U.S. Club Soccer, which was formed in 2001, had 3.2 percent of the overall vote. It is part of the Youth Council, which holds an equal share of the vote with the Pro and Adult Councils (25.8 percent).

The 2018 U.S. Soccer election is slated for Feb. 10 in Orlando, Fla., during the Annual General Meeting.
