NCAA Division II Women: Unbeatens Central Missouri and Carson-Newman advance to final

No. 1 Central Missouri (25-0-0) and No. 2 Carson-Newman (21-0-1) advanced to Saturday's final at the NCAA Division II women's final four at at Swope Park in Kansas City. Both teams will play in the Division II championship game for the first time.

Central Missouri-Mercy (3-0). Goalkeeper Ana Dilkes added to her all-time Division II shutout record with her 64th shutout in Central Missouri's 3-0 win over Mercy. It was the 21st shutout in 25 games in 2017.

Megan Woolley and Makayla Toth scored to give the Jennies a 2-0 lead after only 19 minutes. Jada Scott completed the scoring with a penalty kick in the 57th minute for her team-high 18th goal of the season.

Carson-Newman-UC-Colorado Springs (2-1). Carson-Newman set a new program record with its 21st victory of the season when it beat Colorado-Colorado Springs 2-1.

Magda Mosengo scored on a header off a pass from freshman Emilee Futrell -- her eighth goal in four NCAA Tournament games -- to give C-N the lead in the 42nd minute. Mosengo returned to favor to set up Futrell for the Eagles' second goal in the 71st minute.

Anna Gregg scored a 40-yard rocket moments later to get the Mountain Lions from Colorado back in the game. Key stops by Irish keeper Jackie Burns preserved the win for Carson-Newman.
