NCAA Division II Men: Lynn and Charleston advance to final at Swope Park

Lynn and Charleston will meet in the NCAA Division II men's championship game for the second time in four years when they face off Saturday at Swope Park in Kansas City.

Lynn-Rockhurst (0-0, 3-0 on PKs). Lynn will be seeking its fourth national title since 2003 thanks to a shootout win over host school Rockhurst in the semifinals.

German Niklas Tasky, Austrian Sebastian Radakovics and German Simon Kraemer scored for the Fighting Knights in the shootout while Rockhurst missed all three attempts.

It was more heartbreak for the Hawks, who have made the national semifinals the last three years and played at home but lost all three times.

Charleston-Cal Poly Pomona (1-0). Charleston is returning to the final for third time in four years after beating Cal Poly Pomona thanks to an own goal in the 88th minute.

The Golden Eagles reached the final in 2014 when they lost to Lynn, 3-2, and again in 2016 when they fell to Wingate, 2-0.

Crowd Count. The semifinals drew 2,137 fans at Swope Soccer Village.
