NCAA Division III Men: Messiah returns to final, where it will face North Park

Messiah is one game away from winning its 11th NCAA Division III national championship after rallying to beat Brandeis, 3-2, in overtime in Friday's semifinals at UNCG Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Falcons will face North Park, which is playing in its first final after beating city rival Chicago in a shootout.

Messiah came back twice against Brandeis in a wild second half, Adam Cole and Adam Cole matching goals by Sam Vinson -- the first of the senior defender's career -- and Andrew Allen.

Justin Brautigam's golden goal from 24 yards out sent Messiah to the final, where it is 10-0.

The North Park-Chicago game needed eight rounds of penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie.

The Vikings goalie Mathias Stulen was the hero with 11 saves in regulation and overtime and two saves in the shootout, the second on Chicago's Renato Corghi in the eighth round.
