NCAA Division III: Messiah wins 11th men's title, Williams claims second women's crown

Messiah won its 11th NCAA Division III championship in 11 trips to the men's title game when it rallied to beat North Park, 2-1, in Saturday's championship game at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Falcons fell behind on Gustav Ericsson's goal in the second minute but pulled even three minutes later on Justin Brautigam's goal. Messiah took the lead it never relinquished 33 seconds before halftime when junior Ben Haines scored the first goal of his career.

The title was Messiah's first since 2013. All 11 championships have come in the last 17 years.

Women. Williams won its second NCAA Division III women's championship in three years when it beat Chicago, 1-0, in Saturday's final.

Natasha Albaneze scored the lone goal in the 56th minute on assists from fellow All-American Danielle Sim and Natalie Turner-Wyatt. Olivia Barnhill made six saves for the Ephs, who finished the season with a 22-1-1 record. They won all six NCAA Tournament games by shutout.
