U.S. Abroad Tracker (25 and younger): Tigres stuns Gonzalez's Monterrey to take Mexico's Torneo Apertura

Jonathan Gonzalez's Monterrey lost at home in the second leg of Mexico's Torneo Apertura final, falling to city rival Tigres, 2-1. Tigres, which featured Lalo Fernandez and Jose Torres on the bench, won the Clasico Regio, 3-2, on aggregate to capture the Apertura for the third year in a row.

Gonzalez played 79 minutes before going off. A goal by Dorlan Pabon gave Los Rayados the lead in the 2nd minute, but it proved to be a poisoned goal as Tigres stormed back for a pair of first-half goals, first a long-range shot from Chilean Eduardo Vargas, then a header from Colombian Francisco Meza, who beat Gonzalez to a corner kick for the winning goal.

Monterrey had a chance to tie the game shortly after Gonzalez went off, but Aviles Hurtado missed the goal with his penalty kick.
