U.S. Abroad Tracker (25 and younger): Pulisic ends fall Bundesliga campaign with winner

A fall campaign of extreme frustration for Christian Pulisic ended on a positive note as he scored the late winner to give Borussia Dortmund a 2-1 win over Hoffenheim in its last Bundesliga game before the winter break.

The win was the second of the week for Borussia Dortmund under new coach, Peter Stoeger, after it had gone eight straight games without a victory. More important, Dortmund climbed into a three-way tie for third place.

"[We've been working on] our defensive stability, and staying compact as a group," Pulisic said. "Defense first."

Borussia Dortmund leads the Bundesliga with 39 goals in 17 games but gave up 21 of its 24 goals during its eight-game slide that cost it the league lead.

Pulisic had been winless since the USA's loss to Trinidad & Tobago that knocked it out of the World Cup until Tuesday's 2-0 win over Mainz, a span of two months.

-- Schalke 04 is second after its come-from-behind 2-2 tie at Eintracht Frankfurt. Weston McKennie came on for the last 10 minutes when Schalke rallied from 2-0 down.

France. Washington-born Jordan Siebatcheu scored three goals and added an assist in French Ligue 2 leader Reims' 5-1 win over Valenciennes. The 21-year-old Siebatcheu whose only international experience is two friendly games for France's U-21s has nine goals this season, putting him tied for third in Ligue 2.
