What They're Saying: Herculez Gomez

“We have been late to the party numerous times and have gotten players. So it's fair game when it comes to this. The question is, what does Jona want to do? ... FMF does a phenomenal job of recruiting Mexican-American talent in the United States. They see value in that player. … U.S. Soccer, they see value in that player when others see value in him."

-- ESPN analyst Herculez Gomez, the former U.S. international who starred in Mexico, on 18-year-old Monterrey phenom Jonathan Gonzalez, who is being pursued by the Mexican federation to make a switch of affiliation from the USA to Mexico and play for El Tri. (ESPN FC)

To El Gran Amigo, Herculez Gomez:  THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENTS!!! Jijole de la patada, I've been saying this so many times in numerous comments, and even going back to 1977 when I wrote a piece for a local San Fernando Caliofrnia Newspaper and when I began my college coaching career, and which I can make available to this readership. And BTW, I am still crowing, and will continue to do so about this very topic for as long as I can!
so y'all see, Herculez is not only a product of that of which he and I speak, but should/ought to use his position to talk about the "issue!"  De nuevo Herculez, Gracias y saludos de la Familia Fonseca, yo, Tito, Carmen & Michelle.
