USA-Denmark: Danes' new coach picks experienced team

Denmark named the 20-player team that will face the USA in a women's friendly on Jan. 21 in San Diego.

The squad will feature Nadia Nadim, who helped the Portland Thorns win the 2017 NWSL championship, and Pernille Harder, who was nominated for the 2017 FIFA Women's Player of the Year.

The game will be the first for new national team coach Lars Sondergaard, who was hired in December. He called up every player from the team that lost to the Netherlands, 4-2 in the Euro 2017 final.

Nadim moved to Manchester City after the 2017 NWSL season. She is one of 13 foreign-based players in Sondergaard's squad.
