Maryland captain Rozhansky will bypass MLS for Israel's Maccabi Netanya

Maryland midfielder Jake Rozhansky, who was projected to go in the first round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, has signed with Israeli Premier League club Maccabi Netanya.

Rozhansky played two seasons at Virginia and two at Maryland. He drew considerable interest from MLS clubs after a strong junior season and finished with seven goals and 17 assists in two seasons with the Terrapins.

"I am very excited to being my professional soccer career with Maccabi Netanya." Rozhansky said. "It will be a change for me to live on my own and play, but I'm ready to pursue this dream."

In 2017, he led the USA to the gold medal at the Maccabiah Games in Israel, scoring a hat trick in the final to win Golden Boot honors.
