U.S. Abroad: Carter-Vicker returns to Tottenham

After a half a season on loan to Sheffield United, 20-year-old defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has returned to Tottenham.

Carter-Vickers, who made his debut for the USA against Portugal in November, played 17 games for Sheffield United, which is tied for sixth in the second-tier League Championship, but had not played for the Blades since Boxing Day.

He dressed 16 times for Spurs in the 2016-17 season but never played a league game. His only appearances were limited to FA Cup and League Cup games.

Tottenham is deeper at center back since Carter-Vickers left, but Belgian Toby Alderweireld has been sidelined since the end of October with a hamstring injury.
