USA-Denmark: Match against Euro 2017 runners-up ends January camp

Right out of the gate, the USA will face a stiff test when it hosts Denmark, the Euro 2017 runner-up, in a women's friendly in San Diego.

On the move. The match follows a camp that has been overshadowed by lots of movement on the club front. Five players were traded or had their NWSL rights traded during camp -- Taylor Smith, Allie Long, Carli Lloyd, Christen Press and Crystal Dunn -- and two other players -- Andi Sullivan and Savannah McCaskill -- were drafted.

Down the road. Jill Ellis has given 13 players their first caps since the 2016 Olympics and she will use the first matches of the year -- the Denmark game followed by the SheBelieves Cup in March against Germany, France and England -- to get a better idea of the players and formation she wants to use in Women's World Cup qualifying later in the year.
