USA completes group sweep by beating Mexico at Concacaf U-20 Women's Championship

The USA finished atop Group B at the Women's Concacaf U-20 Championship with a 2-1 win over Mexico and can qualify for the 2018 U-20 World Cup with a win over Haiti on Friday. Cal's Abigail Kim and UCLA's Ashley Sanchez scored first-half goals against Mexico, which got its goal in the 75th minute from Katty Martinez.

Both the USA -- having beaten Nicaragua (2-0) and Jamaica (2-1) -- and Mexico (4-0 vs. Jamaica and 2-0 vs. Nicaragua) had already qualified for the semifinals going into Tuesday's game.

The USA out-shot Mexico, 16-4

The USA's six goals in three games have come from six different players: Sanchez, Kim, Sophia Smith, Jaelin Howell, Taryn Torres and Civan Kuhlmann.

Mexico will face Group A winner Canada in the semifinals, the winners of which qualify for the 2018 U-20 World Cup in France along with the third-place game victor. The USA-Haiti game will be televised by Univision Deportes and streamed on Concacaf YouTube on Friday at 3 p.m. ET.
