U.S. Abroad Tracker (25 and younger): Jonathan Gonzalez's Monterrey stays on top

Jonathan Gonzalez started for Monterrey in its 5-1 win over Leon that left it in first place in Mexico's Liga MX, ahead of Club America on goal difference

Los Rayados are unbeaten in eight games since losing to Tigres, 2-1, in the second leg of the Torneo Apertura final they lost, 3-2, on aggregate.

Monterrey has lost just three times in 38 league and cup games this season. Gonzalez has played in 32 of those games: all but one of 28 league games and half of the 10 cup games.

Friday. Matt Miazga scored the winning goal for Vitesse in its 2-0 win over Groningen in the Dutch Eredivisie. Christian Pulisic and Antonee Robinson both had assists in winning efforts.

It would be interesting to know how many of these players were either not picked for the national team rosters or were chosen and then cut because they didn't meet the athletic criteria of being big, strong and fast rather than being technically efficient and didn't fit into the kick it hard and chase it game that we tend to play.
