Miazga escapes with club fine for nuts job

Matt Miazga escaped with only a fine from his Dutch club, Vitesse, after video showed him squeezing the private parts of Heerenveen's Denzel Dumfries in an Eredivisie match in January.

The 22-year-old Miazga, on loan to Vitesse from Chelsea, committed the act during a corner kick in the match that ended in a 1-1 tie.

Vitesse teammate Tim Matavz wasn't so lucky. He elbowed Dumfries and was fined by the club. But he was also given a four-match suspension by the Dutch federation.

Vitesse: "We have fined both because it doesn't fit with the concept of fair play at the club."

Very disappointed in Matt. Saw the infraction a couple weeks ago as shown on dutch tv.  It looked nasty and he's lucky he wasn't suspended for a few games for there is no ruling covering this type of infraction. This is not how I want to see our boys represented in Europe. He had no business pulling this stunt....

Yes, there is a rule in the LOTG covering nuts jobs.  It's called violent play (Law 12), and it merits a red card if detected by the referee.  The Dutch federation should also have suspended Matt based on video evidence.

Ben , I don't know for apparently the dutch could not get him on the infraction and it was left up to the club to fine him...
