Rowdies assistant Voss replaces Becker at Penn FC

Penn FC (formerly Harrisburg City Islanders) has hired Tampa Bay Rowdies assistant coach Raoul Voss as its head coach for the 2018 USL season.

Voss replaces Bill Becher, who served as City Islanders head coach for 14 years, making him the longest-serving head coach in American pro soccer. Becher is now a technical adviser.

The German-born Voss recently served as an assistant coach for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Tampa Bay Rowdies. He worked on the technical staff for both Hoffenheim and Concordia Hamburg in Germany after returning from the United States, where he played coached at FIU.

"Becoming the first Penn FC head coach is a tremendous honor for me.  I am really looking forward to this opportunity," said Voss.  "The goal for this upcoming season is to connect all these different pieces and facets of the club, unite them, and ultimately be a part of creating the identity of Penn FC."
