MLS Preseason: Coast-to-coast Davies highlights wild night in Vegas

In just two exhibition games, the Las Vegas Lights have turned Cashman Field into a hot spot for soccer.

After selling out the baseball stadium for the first game against Montreal, the USL expansion team drew another boisterous crowd 6,049 fans on Saturday for their 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps. The fans were treated to plenty of fireworks:

-- Lights coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola and Vancouver coach Carl Robinson were ejected after getting into an argument with following a red card to Lights defender Marcelo Alatorre.

-- But instead of leaving the field, "Chelis" went into the crowd and watched the Lights come back from two goals down to tie the game on a free kick and penalty kick three minute apart by 26-year-old Juan Jose Calderon.

-- The highlight of the evening came when Canadian teenager Alphonso Davies picked up the ball in the Vancouver Whitecaps' penalty area, beat one Las Vegas Lights defender and outraced two more before scoring in the 18th minute.

Davies was amazing all night. And handled being heckled by some roudy fans very well! Fun game! Great time!

Yes I did. Not sold out like the first game, but very good turn out. I think the number was 6,200-ish. It was also nice to see Daigo Kobayashi (on trial w/LVLFC), and Sean Franklin (invitee) for Vancouver.
