Renard's absence with an ankle injury leaves the Bleues with just five players from Lyon, which has won all 20 games it has played in 2017-18 by a margin of 119-3. They include former Portland Thorn Amandine Henry as well as Sarah Bouhaddi, Amel Majri, Griedge Mbock Bathy and Eugenie Le Sommer.

Gaetane Thiney, who was called up for the first time since Euro 2017, is one of four players from Paris FC (former Juvisy).Diacre called up players from eight different French clubs, reflecting her philosophy of expanding the French player pool as it prepares to host the 2019 Women's World Cup.

They include two players from Guingamp, which recently refused to train while Diacre was in town to watch training in order to protest working conditions.
