Christopher Gloster, former U.S. U-17 from Red Bulls, joins Hannover 96

Christopher Gloster, a left back who played all five games for the USA during its quarterfinal run the 2017 U-17 World Cup, has signed with Hannover 96. Gloster, who turns 18 in July, had been part of the New York Red Bulls Development Academy program since U-14s and made one USL appearance for Red Bulls II. He will start out with the German Bundesliga club next season with its  U-19 squad.

"We've got exceptions for him -- also with the perspective of moving up," said Hannover 96's academy director Michael Tarnat. "He left a good impression during the two weeks he spent with us on trial."

Gloster had previously tried out with Schalke 04, which signed Zyen Jones, a former Atlanta United academy player who was part of 2017 U-17 U-20 World Cup qualifying.

Also from the USA's 2017 U-17 World Cup team, Indiana Vassilev signed with Aston Villa and Josh Sargent with Werder Bremen.
