MLS Moves: Revs add young Colombian Caicedo on loan

The New England Revolution got some help for its midfield with the acquisition of Colombian Luis Alberto Caicedo on loan from Cortulua for the 2018 MLS season.

The Revs have an option on the 21-year-old Caicedo, who has made 70 league appearances, including 67 starts, Colombia's second-tier Primera B.

New head coach Brad Friedel started Scott Caldwell and Wilfried Zahibo in central midfield in the 2-0 loss at Philadelphia to open the 2018 MLS season. Xavier Kouassi and Gershon Koffie, who played 46 games in 2017 between them, did not return.

Caicedo's signing comes amid reports that the Revs are shopping attacking players Krisztian Nemeth and Lee Nguyen.
