USL: Moving on up to MLS

Teenagers Anthony Fontana (Philadelphia Union) and Ben Mines (New York Red Bulls) made headlines with goals in their MLS debuts, but they are just two of 26 players who have moved from the USL to MLS in 2018.

Sebastien Ibeagha, the 2017 USL Defender of the Year, made his first start for NYCFC in its home opener. Canadian Mark-Anthony Kaye, who played for 2017 champion Louisville City, has been a revelation in the LAFC  midfield.
