FC Dallas forward Jesus Ferreira
, the 17-year-old son of former MLS MVP David Ferreira
, underwent surgery in Philadelphia to repair a sports hernia injury.
Ferreira, the second-youngest player in MLS history to score a goal, is expected to return in 4-5 weeks. In his only MLS appearance for FC Dallas, he scored as a sub in a 6-2 win over Real Salt Lake
in June 2017. He has dressed in only one other MLS game since signing a pro contract in November 2016.
Ferreira played on the FC Dallas team that won the Dallas Cup Super Group for the
first time in 2017 and won the 2015-16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy championship, scoring and assisting
in the 2-0 win over the LA Galaxy in the U-15/16 final.
