MLS Moves: FC Dallas gives Shaft to LAFC, relinquishing Homegrown rights

LAFC signed U.S. U-20 Shaft Brewer to a pro contract. He had spent time in the youth systems at Sacramento Republic FC and FC Dallas and in Germany with RB Leipzig.

FC Dallas had to give FC Dallas a fourth-round pick in the 2019 SuperDraft and $50,000 in General Allocation Money (if certain playing conditions are met) to acquire the forward's Homegrown rights.

"Shaft is a dynamic and promising player who performed well throughout the preseason," said LAFC general manager John Thorrington. "We are excited to officially welcome Shaft back to California and to our club."

Brewer is the 24th player LAFC has signed. It won its first two MLS games.
