Miami FC, one of three clubs still operating in the NASL when it suspended operations for the 2018 season, was the first team to begin a new life in the NPSL when Miami FC 2 opened with a 1-1 tie
against Miami United FC in the Magic City Clasico.
Jaime Chavez scored with seconds left in the game to earn Miami FC 2 a tie. Miami United FC had led on a
Victor Pelae goal
early in the second half.
Miami FC, the 2017 spring and fall NASL champion, has kept more key players under contract than the New York Cosmos and Jacksonville Armada, which will also be
fielding teams in the NPSL.
Besides

Daniel Vega, defenders
Mason Trafford,
Rhett Bernstein and
Tyler Ruthven and midfielder
