Daniel Leyva (Seattle Sounders FC academy) scored in the 28th minute to give the USA a 1-0 win over host Italy in the opening game of the U-15 Torneo delle Nazioni in Gradisca D’Isonzo.

The USA faces Macedonia (a replacement for Libya) on Thursday and Croatia on Friday in the 16-team tournament.
