Dellcamera will be paired with color commentator Tony Meola, the goalkeeper on that day in Port of Spain when the USA had to win to clinch a spot in the World Cup for the first time in 40 years.
“When he was a young goalkeeper, I was broadcasting his games – including one of the biggest games in his life, in 1989 in Trinidad,” Dellacamera told the Philadelphia Enquirer's Jonathan Tannenwald. “Now it’s full circle."
For the first time in 12 years, the dean of American soccer broadcasters is returning to the sport’s biggest stage.
