Dellcamera will be paired with color commentator Tony Meola, the goalkeeper on that day in Port of Spain when the USA had to win to clinch a spot in the World Cup for the first time in 40 years.
“When he was a young goalkeeper, I was broadcasting his games – including one of the biggest games in his life, in 1989 in Trinidad,” Dellacamera told the Philadelphia Enquirer's Jonathan Tannenwald. “Now it’s full circle."
For the first time in 12 years, the dean of American soccer broadcasters is returning to the sport’s biggest stage.
I talked with JP Dellacamera about him going to Russia as part of @FOXSoccer’s World Cup broadcast team: https://t.co/nxp6QlrWNq via @phillysport

Ugh, can't stand to listen to him call games. Everything is too dramatic.
Best American play caller.
Calls the game without all the side chatter.
Hope he gets a game smart color commentator that does not need to constantly hear himself.
