TV: El Clasico averages more than 1.4 million viewers on BeIN Sports networks

The Barcelona-Real Madrid match on May 6 averaged 1.4 viewers on beIN Sports and beIN Sports en Espanol, up 62 percent from El Clasico in December 2017 despite the fact Barca had already clinched the 2017-18 La Liga race.

The only soccer match that drew more viewers for the week of April 30-May 6 was the UNAM-Club America Liga MX playoff game with more than 1.5 million viewers.

The largest audience for a club match on Spanish-language television so far in 2018 is 2.5 million for the Mexico Super Clasico between Club America and Guadalajara on Univision and UDN.

The largest audience for a club match on English-language television this year is 1.35 million for Manchester United-Manchester City on NBC. The combined viewership of 1.72 million on NBC and Telemundo is a record for an EPL game on U.S. television.
