What They're Saying: Sigi Schmid

“A lot of times when you have big players in Europe or even South America, there’s a little more respect for the big players. And MLS is a little more ‘Okay, well I’m going to show you’ kind of attitude rather than a little of that respect."

-- LA Galaxy coach Sigi Schmid on the ejection of  Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the first red card issued to the Swedish star since he moved to MLS, in the first half of the Galaxy's 1-0 win at Montreal. Ibra was sent off when he slapped Michael Petrasso in the head after the Impact defender stepped on his foot off the ball. Petrasso was issued a yellow card.

Come on Sigi, you can feed that line to some people and maybe they will believe you. That’s more embarrassing than the slap.
