Dortmund, whose starting lineup also featured German stars Mario Goetze and Andre Schurrle, will return in the summer for its first appearance in the International Champions Cup.

"The stadium was unbelievable," Pulisic said following the match. "It was awesome to play with Dortmund for the first time in USA against a good American opponent, against LAFC."

Pulisic knows Southern California from trips the area with the U.S. U-17s.

"I’ve always known that the soccer culture around this area in LA has always been really good," he said. "I used to play youth national team camps here, and now that they have another team here, it’s awesome."
