NWSL Moves: Lisa Cole joins Washington Spirit coaching staff

After a brief stint this season as an assistant at the Houston Dash, Lisa Cole has moved to the NWSL's Washington Spirit with roles as the club's scout for the pro team and coach with the Spirit Academy-Virginia program in the new Girls Development Academy.

Cole worked as a coach in the Boston Breakers' organization, advancing to head coach for their first season in the NWSL. She then coached Papua New Guinea's U-20 women's team, culiminating with the 2017 Under-20 World Cup in the Oceania nation.
“We are fortunate to have Lisa join our club,” said Spirit head coach and general manager Jim Gabarra. “She provides us with a tremendous resource as we grow and develop our pro and Development Academy player pool and club structure.”
