Injury Scare: Neymar limps off practice field, Brazil doctor downplays concerns

Fouled 10 times in Brazil's opening 1-1 tie with Switzerland -- the most fouls a player has suffered in a World Cup match in 20 years -- Neymar is hurting.

He limbed off training with an ankle injury on Tuesday in Sochi, though team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said it was a precaution.

"What we can do is to calm down," Lasmar said. "A shorter workout was planned for the starters today, they're still in a regenerative process. Neymar trained a little, felt the pain, returned to physical therapy and tomorrow trains normally."

The Brazil staff is working on getting Neymar ready for training on Wednesday, two days before Brazil faces Costa Rica in its second match.

The Switzerland match was Neymar's first competitive match since since he underwent surgery for a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot suffered in a match against Marseille in February.
