A big day for Cavani and his PSG teammates

It wasn't a bad day for Paris St. Germain players.

Two goals for Kylian Mbappe in France's 4-3 win over Argentina. A spectacular goal by Angel Di Maria for Argentina in the same game.

And on Saturday night, another Parisian, Edinson Cavani, scored both goals for Uruguay as it eliminated Portugal, 2-1.

On the first goal, Cavani played the ball the right side to teammate Luis Suarez all the way across the field on the left side, raced into the penalty area and met Suarez's cross with a header.

After Pepe tied the score at 1-1 with the first goal Uruguay allowed in four games, Cavani met Rodrigo Bentancur's pass and fired an angle shot across the goal to the far side for a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minute.

Unfortunately, Cavani had to be helped off the field by Cristiano Ronaldo 12 minutes later with a calf injury that might keep him out of the quarterfinals against France on Friday.

“We will have to see how that evolves as it’s not clear at this stage how serious it is,” Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez said. “But as always, we will bank on the strength of our team as a collective. That is our best chance against any adversary, and we know that France will be very tough indeed.”
