Watch: Highlights from Chris Armas' playing days

The Red Bulls new head coach, Chris Armas, earned 66 U.S. caps and was an MLS All-Star six times during his 1996-2007 MLS playing career. He was part of two USA Gold Cup championship teams and helped the USA qualify for the 2002 World Cup, which he missed because of a knee injury suffered two weeks before the tournament. Armas won 1998 MLS Cup with the Chicago Fire in its first season after finishing runner-up with the LA Galaxy in the league's 1996 inaugural season.
