Defender Samuel Umtiti‘s first national team goal in official competition decided France’s 1-0 win over Belgium in the 2018 World Cup semifinal. The Cameroon-born Umtiti, who moved toFrance with his family at age 2, had previously scored in friendlies against England in 2017 and Italy in a pre-World Cup friendly June 1. Now 24, he transferred from his hometown club Lyon toBarcelona in 2016.
