It's the second loan move for the 27-year-old Norwegian-American since he left MLS's New York City FC. Manchester City acquired him on a free transfer and loaned him to Sweden's IFK Goteborg for which he has scored seven goals in 41 league games in 2017 and 2018.
Diskerud has played 38 game for the USA and went to the 2014 World Cup though he did not play in Brazil. His last appearance came in 2016 when he started in the 2-0 loss to Guatemala in a World Cup qualifier -- one of the worst defeats of the Jurgen Klinsmann era.
He played 27 games in 2015, NYCFC's first MLS season, but his playing time dropped considerably after Patrick Vieira took over as head coach in 2016.
