-- Miami city commissioner Ken Russell, the swing vote on Miami's five-member commission that voted, 3-2, on Wednesday to hold a referendum in November for voters to decide if they should allow the city to negotiate a no-bid lease with David Beckham’s MLS ownership group, which plans on building a $1 billion commercial and stadium complex on the city’s only municipal golf course. Russell said he had planned on voting no until getting concessions from co-owner Jorge Mas. (Miami Herald)
