What They're Saying: Juergen Klopp

“We are opening that bottle again? It is action-reaction-action-reaction and I don’t like that but -- if you watch it back and you are not with Real Madrid -- then you think it is ruthless and brutal."

-- Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp, speaking for the first time since the Reds' 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final about the foul by Sergio Ramos that injured Mohamed Salah and forced him out game. He was speaking before Saturday's Liverpool-Manchester United game in Ann Arbor, Michigan. (Guardian)

I’m not with Real and I didn’t think it ruthless and brutal. Ramos is a skilled and tough defender. Nothing dirty there, Salah didn’t understand or know how to untangle at that moment.

I'm not buying that. When someone has your arm wrapped up that's the definition of dirty play.

I don't think he intended to injure Saleh at all, but the potential for injury goes way up in that situation. That's way more than a push or a jersey grab.
