FC Cincinnati, which will begin play in MLS in 2019, expects to get close to its season-ticket base of 25,000 for next season following the addition of more than 1,000 new season-ticket accounts.
FC Cincinnati drew 27,426 fans for Saturday's USL match against Nashville SC --
more
than all but the Atlanta United's crowd of 45,191 for the weekend MLS matches.
It will remain next season at Nippert Stadium, on the campus of the University of Cincinnati, while
construction continues on a soccer stadium in the West End.
“We expect a very high renewal rate as Cincinnati prepares to join MLS and our fans establish priority for selection when
we open our new stadium in 2021," said
Jeff Smith, FC Cincinnati's vice president of ticket sales and service, in a team statement. "We strongly believe we’ll have a season ticket base
that pushes close to 25,000 at Nippert Stadium next year.”
