Quick Hits: U.S. Abroad Mexico

Mexico. It took parts of two seasons but keeper Lalo Fernandez finally made his debut for Tigres, starting in its  0-0 tie with Cafetaleros de Tapachula in the Copa MX.

Fernandez, 25, had played all of one game -- a U.S. Open Cup match -- for Real Salt Lake in his six seasons with the MLS club. He was part of the RSL academy’s first graduating class in 2011.

-- Former U.S. U-17 Alex Zendejas, back at Guadalajara after a season on loan to Zacatepec, started in Chivas' 0-0 tie at Alebrijes de Oaxaca. Jonathan Esparza, 19, started his second game for Oaxaca.
