Youth: USA beats Mexico with three overtime goals in Concacaf U-15 Girls Championship final

Jaedyn Shaw of FC Dallas scored twice and Real So Cal's Alyssa Thompson struck once in overtime to give the USA the 2018 Concacaf U-15 Girls Championship title with a 3-0 final win over Mexico.

Tied 0-0 after 70 minutes of regulation play, Shaw chipped home from close range a pass from Thompson six minutes into overtime. Shaw scored her Golden Boot-winning fifth goal from the penalty spot three minutes later. Thompson dribbled past Mexico keeper and stroked the ball into an empty one minute before the final whistle.

Coach April Kater fielded a U-14 squad at the tournament -- mostly 2004s while Mexico fielded mostly 2003s -- and in group play beat Jamaica (8-0), lost to guest team Portugal (2-0) and beat El Salvador (8-0) before downing Portugal, 3-0, in the semifinals.
