Christian Pulisic didn't travel with Borussia Dortmund to Hanover for its Bundesliga match with Hannover 96 on Friday.
He was a scratch, nursing what were described as "muscular
problems." He started the league opener last Sunday -- a 4-1 win over RB Leipzig -- and played 77 minutes.
In his absence, English teenager
Jadon Sancho, who came on and scored
against Leipzig, is expected to start on Friday.
ESPN FC
reported that Borussia Dortmund termed Pulisic "currently
doubtful" for the U.S. friendlies against Brazil Sept. 7 and Mexico Sept. 11.
Bummer.
Not sure why Pulisic would be selected to travel from Europe for friendlies under an interim coach. Lots of potential downside for no upside.
I don’t blame Pulisic for not coming...why even bother when there is NO COACH!!!!
