Youth Movement: Philadelphia adds 17-year-old Brenden Aaronson for 2019

The Philadelphia Union, which has gotten great production out of young academy products in its run to the top six in the Eastern Conference, signed 17-year-old attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson, making him the sixth current Homegrown player on the Union roster.

Aaronson is slated to join Anthony Fontana, Derrick Jones, Mark McKenzie, Matt Real and Auston Trusty as Homegrown players on the Union’s active roster when he officially joins the team in 2019.

He is the Union's first-ever Homegrown signing from New Jersey after playing 12 games as an amateur so far this season for Bethlehem Steel in the USL.
